Costa Rica is world wide recognized for its astonishing white-sandy beaches. Both the Pacific and the Caribbean Coast offer amazing opportunities for adventure or relaxation. Let us talk a little bit more about some of the highlights of two popular beaches in this Central American country.

Flamingo Beach (Pacific Coast) – “Playa Famingo” as it is known by the locals, is a perfect location for families or honeymooners in Costa Rica. Hotels in Playa Flamingo are beachfront, separated by just a few meters from the coastal pristine waters. Playa Flamingo is geographically located at the Papagayo Gulf which makes mangroves abundant in this region. Tours to these mangroves are offered daily and become a great opportunity for family members to learn more about Costa Rica’s ecosystem. Coastis, monkeys and lizards can be easily spotted year-round.

For honeymooners or couples looking for romantic vacations in Costa Rica, Flamingo Beach is definitely a place worth visiting as it offers activities such as sunset dinner sailing, island excursions, kayaking and more.

Jaco Hermosa Beach (Puntarenas) – Just recently this beach was the chosen scenario for the 2009 Surf Championship; that by itself says everything about this destination. Playa Jaco in Costa Rica has been for many years the number one beach for water sport adventures and fishing vacations. It is mostly a place for groups of friends or young couples that can handle the adrenaline. Tours here range from canopy (zip lines), hanging bridges and bungee jumping, offered in the nearby natural wildlife reserves, to fishing tours, diving, snorkeling and surfing lessons, who take place at the beach.

If you are planning your next Costa Rica vacations itinerary make sure to include at least one of these wonderful locations, it will all ultimately depend on who you are traveling with and the kind of activities that you desire to do, but one thing is certain, you won’t regret the experience.

Tips On Traveling Around The World

Organizing Your Stuff – Before moving off to start your travel around the world makes sure your stuffs and possessions will be safe and secure while you are away for long time. One can find someone responsible and honest to stay and look after his house, or rent or sublet during the time you will be traveling.

Financial Matters – The amount of money required depends completely on the length and type of traveling you will choose. It varies depending on the kind of accommodation one wants. If you are planning for expensive adventure traveling, scuba diving then it will cost you more. However, one must leave his money in the safe custody of the bank back in home and carry cards while traveling. ATMs are easily available in all parts of the world for easy cashing of money. One can also carry travel checks.

Passport / Visas – Applications for passport are easily available from passport agencies in the place one lives in or post offices and online travel agencies. It approximately takes six weeks if one is applying for the first time. Get your passports renewed in time.

Vaccinating Yourself – Few vaccinations like Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B and rabies are important to be taken over weeks before going away for long time. One can visit the local clinic or immunization clinic to get consultations and injections. One can also visit travel clinic.

Travel Insurance – It is good to be prepared before than regret later. Make sure you get your traveling insurance done by your insurance agent. These usually cover emergencies like luggage lost, cancellation of trip, medical insurance, and life insurance. There are special insurances that cover adventure sports.

Bag Packing – This is a very important issue. One must keep the packing simple and small however, not forgetting the very essentials needed while traveling. Packing things depend largely on the place you will be traveling in. Winter countries require carrying off enough woolen clothes, gloves, jackets. Mix and match clothes that are light weight and gets dry easily when washed. Wear shoes that supports your traveling.

One way travel

A common question asked in relation to travel is whether it is possible to buy travel insurance for one way travel. Yes, you can is the short answer but do look around as not every travel insurance policy provides this level of cover and you could be caught out.

What do we mean by one way travel? This is taken to mean when someone has open ended travel plans and has not bought a return leg or, perhaps, if someone is emigrating and wants to have cover for the travel part of their itinerary. The advice here is to check the policy wording carefully. Some policies, mostly at the cheaper end of the market, will not have cover in place for one way travel and will require travellers to have purchased, or have proof of purchase, of a return ticket and insurers will ask to see this, if and when, a claim is made. Once you have found a travel insurance provider who will cover one way travel, you do need to remember that cover will only be provided for the period of their insurance or there could be a restriction on how long the cover is in place once you have arrived at your final destination.

This could easily be overlooked. Likewise, don’t assume that your annual multi-trip insurance policy will cover you for the period you spend away, as most of these policies do have trip limits. So if your annual policy allows you to take individual trips of, say, 31 days per trip, then if your one way travel exceeds this then you will definitely not be covered after that period. The same applies to single trip travel insurance policies. For instance, if you planning to take out a three week insurance policy to go backpacking in Europe this summer to attend Euro 2008, then don’t exceed your insurance period and still assume you are covered. The lure of the open road, not restricted by an end dateComputer Technology Articles, has much to recommend it but don’t let this search for complete travel freedom catch you out.

South Africa, a country admired for its colorful people, beautiful scenery and unforgettable hospitality. A place, where quality of life is high but relatively low cost of living hence making it a preferred place for International removals. However, if you see the flip side of same, you will see that South Africa is a nation that is still undergoing a process of change which means it has got certain negative aspects too related to crime, health and education.
So, before you move, make sure that your purpose matches the prevailing conditions of South Africa. You may face certain issues including visa requirements, which are to be complied with before and after arrival.

South Africa gives priority to providing jobs to local population rather outsiders due to which their immigration policy is tight. Certain laws have been passed to ensure that all businesses report on the quotas they have and its likely future. However, if you possess a skill which is short in supply in Africa and in demand as well or you have some developmental plan for the country through investment, you will be able to get visa easily. Current visa requirements includes that you must possess a good and desirable character, your acts and purpose must not be a danger to its culture and environment in anyways, your occupation must not be similar to one for which there are already large number of people available to meet its requirements etc.

For International removal to South Africa, you can apply for immigration from the country of your residence. You can also apply from South Africa if you possess a work permit which is valid or if you are married or son of yours is a permanent citizen of South Africa or if they have temporary residence permit or any blood family member, who is a permanent resident of South Africa, has sponsored or in case you have an exemption to hold any residence permit.

Once you have obtained visa, the next step would be settling down for which you would need to answer certain questions like how much area you want to live in, the size and type of accommodation, your budget, duration of rental agreement etc. For all these purposes, an estate agent can be of help to you.

The History of Prague

May 28th, 2009 by admin | Posted in History, Prague | No Comments »

Prague is a great city for those in love. Traces of the city’s history are found on nearly every corner.

A stroll through the Old City past Powder Tower (1475), the old town hall and other equally beautiful baroque architectural masterpieces leads to the Charles Bridge, one of the most photographed bridges in the world.

Prague Castle was created on the Hradshin River by a landowner named Premysl around 870, and Prague soon became the epicentre of the House of Premysl.

Vratislav I, the first Bohemian monarch, transfered the royal household to Vysehrad Castle in 1085, probably due to a power struggle with his brother, Bishop Jaromir.

Prague Castle remained the seat of the bishops of Prague for many years. The Cathedral of St. Vitus, another early structure, is also located on the castle grounds.

Prague develops.

Protected by the two castles, a sea of German and Jewish businessmen and local craftsmen led to fast growth on both sides of the Muldau River. The largest fortified area was near the already ancient Prague Castle. Prague received its city charter in 1234 from King Wenceslas I, who made it his primary residence.

Shortly thereafter, the “New Town” districts of Mala Strana and Hradshin were ffounded. The fourteenth century brought yet more prosperity to Prague. In 1348 the first university in central Europe was founded here, Charles University, named after Emperor Charles IV.

In the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, Prague was torn apart by two religious wars. The Hussite Wars (1419-1437) and the Thirty Years War (1618-1648) left bad memories.

The events that set off both of these wars started in Prague. These include the famous “defenestrations”, in which Catholic office holders and dignitaries were thrown out of windows by dissenters, the first time by Hussites, followers of rebel reformer Jan Hus, and later by Protestants, setting off the Thirty Years War.

The victims of the first defenestration did not fall far, but luckily landed in the arms of a mob waiting outside to lynch them. The second time was from an upper story, but the Catholics were saved because they fell into a heap of manure. From the Catholic point of view, divine intervention prevailed. The two long, debilitating wars slaughtered hundreds of thousands, setting back growth for many years. Like other afflicted cities, Prague lost most of its international standing during this time.

Prague in Spring-Time.

In 1945, Prague became the capital of the Soviet Socialist Republic of Czechoslovakia. Communist leadership precipitated a deep-seated financial crisis: the Soviet central planning bureau contributed to nearly complete economic disaster.

In the spring of 1968, public criticism grew and much of the population became increasingly radicalized. Street demonstrations of the “Prague Spring” were news all over the world.

Ultimately, power struggles within the ruling party led to the invasion of Prague by Warsaw Pact troops on 21 August 1968, and the brief period of expression was ruthlessly extinguished.

It would be 1989 before Prague separated itself from Russian control, and in 1993 was named capital of an independent Czech Republic.

Deciding that you want to go on a vacation is a very easy task. But actually booking the vacation and paying for it, however, is much more difficult thing. Vacation deals are there to help those who are looking for a cheap vacation. But how can you find good vacation deals? Many people are not sure where they can find great vacation deals. Here are a few tips that will help you find vacation deals that will save lots of money.

Tip #1: Book on time

If one is going on a vacation, then he will get better vacation deals if he gets his booking done on time. By booking on spur of the moment, you are giving the hotel very little notice, which means that you will have to pay the full price. If you book on time then you will have a chance to get attractive offers. Hotels may offer vacation deals that you may not have seen before. Whenever possible, book your vacation on time.

Tip #2: Talk to a travel agent.

These days many people are shifting away from travel agents. They are getting their vacations booked online using an online travel site. While these can sometimes get a person great vacation deals, many people find that they have more trouble booking a vacation online than they would if they had gone to a travel agent. Travel agents get deals easily because they have connections that the average person does not have. Travel agents can often get a vacation deal that the average person would not be able to find.

Tip #3: Nepotism is Good

It is good if you know anyone in the country or city you are planning to visit. There is always a chance that the people you know may be able to help you to get a great vacation deal. People who live in the area know the best places to stay, and many have connections that can get a good deal on a room or on a vehicle.

Tip #4: Be Flexible.

Every one wants to begin their vacation on a Friday or a Saturday and end it on a Saturday or Sunday. These are the most sought after days to start and end vacations, and booking a vacation during these days mean that it is likely that you will not be able to find any vacation deals. Instead, try booking your vacation during the days like on a Tuesday or a Thursday. Also, try booking your plane flight during the late night or the very early morning, as these will help you save money.

Rio de Janeiro

If you didn’t know, the World Peace Crusade is the biggest event held by the gypsies in all Brazil. The event is organized by Mirian Stanescon-RORANI and pays homage to Jews, Afro-descendents, Native Indians and of course, gypsies; showing support and solidarity towards the unity among all people, regardless of religion, beliefs because only by this we can accomplish world peace, at least theoretically. In 2009, they will reach the 11th event and everything remains the same, support for all people for a better and peaceful world. The celebration is organized at Parque Garota de Ipanema – Posto 7 – Rua Franciso Otavino – Arpoador on 24 May every year.

This large event is a part of the celebrations of Saint Sara Kali Day which is the patron saint of the gypsies and starts with an ecumenical gypsy mass – blessing, show, exhibitions and ethnic dances. At the 11th Rio de Janeiro World Peace Crusade you will observe the release of the Gypsy People’s primer, “The law in your hands” which was written by Mirian Stanescon Batuli and produced by the Human Rights Department and supported by the Ministry of Culture and SEPPIR. At the event they also celebrate the national gipsy day and the 1st temple in Latin America dedicated to St. Sara Kali.

Saint Sarah is the mythic patron saint of Roma (gypsy) people and the center of her veneration is Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, a place for pilgrimage for Roma in the Camargue, situated in southern France. Besides the commemoration at the World Peace Crucade, in France on the 24th May her statue is carried down to the sea in order to re-enact her arrival in France. As you can see, Saint Sarah was and still is a very important figure for the gypsies not only in France but also in Brazil and other countries that have a large minority of gypsies.

The 11th World Peace Crusade’s other objectives besides honoring Saint Sarah is to provide moral and religious support for people from all corners of the world, regardless of religious beliefs, social status and ethnic origins. The organizers of the crusade consider that only by considering people equal we all can live in a fair and peaceful world without wars, terrorism and disasters caused by humans. The World Peace Crusade has a special significance for Jews and the Afro-descends because here they can learn more about their history and especially for the Jews, the horrifying moments that their great grandfathers had to go through in order to establish the Jews as a recognized ethnic population.

All things considered, in 2009 for the 11th World Peace Crusade organiezed at Parque Garot de Ipanema, we celebrate not only the gypsies, Jews, Afro-descendets or Native Indians but also mankind itself, people from all over the world, providing ideas and solutions for a better world, a safer place for us and our children because the most important thing for mankind is peace, everything else can be resolved with patience and a little effort.

Rio de Janeiro Boat Shows

April 27th, 2009 by admin | Posted in Rio de Janeiro | 3 Comments »

The annual Rio de Janeiro Boat Show is Latin America’s largest boat show that brings a fancy nautical air to the capital of Brazil with new models on show from boat builders near and far away. Besides the boat themselves, visitors also have the possibility to watch auxiliary equipment, engines, fishing equipment, chandlery and many more. Other attractions would be trade stalls and entertainments, very popular among visitors each and every year. The Rio Boat Show opens its doors on 14 May and lasts until 20 May at Marina da Gloria. The show is organized by GR Mar Eventos and it is considered to be a very charming boat show that each and every year shows the latest developments in boats.

We will continue this article by presenting what we consider to be the top attractions at the 12th Rio de Janeiro Boat Show. We will start with the Sailboat Bavaria 44 Vision which is the main member of the German Boat Show. This boat offers 3 large and spacious bedrooms and a state-of-the-art bathroom. The boat’s design draws attention thanks to the bold lines of the cabin, with the panoramic windows in the soft curves that flaw naturally. The performance of this boat is achieved with a more Velicer area and a high performance pole as well as a system of internal passage of sheet along with auxiliary engines that provide more power than before.

Moving on, we briefly present the Rio Yacxo Shipyard which will debut at the boat show this year. It is the only boat that measures 33 feet and offers two enclosed cabins and double beds. Six people can comfortably sleep on the board mainly because the “V” shaped sofa can be transformed into a third bed for two people. The cockpit of the boat has plenty of space for 12 people and in the construction of the cockpit the manufacturers used glass fiber and PVC foam which resulted in a very resistant yet light boat.

United State’s biggest attraction will be the Lazzara 74, forerunner of the boat that revolutionized the waters. With the LSX 92, launched just last Fort Lauderdale Boat Show, the Lazzara, almost a family business had already collected a sea of praise with the previous model, the LSX 75, seems to have come very close to the answer. So with other words, the Lazzara 74 will surely be a great hit. The Lazzara 74 is equipped with 4 Volvo IPS engines which are considered to be extremely efficient in terms of fuel consumption as well as silence and airworthiness issues.

Last but not least, at the 2009 Rio Boat Show, visitors can take a glance at the revitalized Delta 32. The Delta is the largest manufacturer of sailboats in the country and this year will re-launch one of its popular boats, the Delta 32. This boat now comes with a lot of interior innovations that provide extended comfort in comparison with the anterior model. The boat offers two cabins for 4 people and a large bathroom and other facilities for a relaxing stay.

All things considered, the 12th Rio Boat Show has plenty to offer: great boats, lovely scenery, incredible atmosphere and many more. If you plan your vacation during this period, make sure that you spend a few hours at the show; we assure that you won’t regret it.

Travel Insurance Options 60+

A high percentage of Americans who are over 65 have chosen Medicare A & B and probably C. On top of this they may also have a Medicare Supplement policy.

If you are a senior citizen and plan to travel outside the States, you need travel insurance. Your current insurance will not give you adequate coverage. The reality is that no Medicare plan will provide medical coverage outside the USA or medical evacuation coverage.

The older we get the more difficult it is to get international medical insurance.

But there is good news! There are several insurance plans that have no age limitations whatsoever.

But which supplemental medical insurance plan is best for you and your loved ones? Before you speak with your insurance broker, find out what your current health insurance covers. From there you can determine what travel insurance you will need.

These are questions to ask:

1. Is there an age limit on the plan? Some plans have no age limit while others insist that you cannot be over 74 or 84 years of age.

2.Is there a reduction in benefits due to age? Some plans carry limited coverage for those 80 years of age or older. Check to see how much coverage they will give you.

3.How long does coverage last? One insurance plan covers only a month while another insures you for six months.

4.Does it cover pre-existing health conditions? There is one plan that will cover all pre-existing medical conditions but it requires travelers to have US underwritten health plan or Medicare A, B and C.

5.What types of coverage do you want? For example, do you want a plan that will insure you in cases of coma, felonious assault, political evacuation, or a sports injury? A lot of this depends on the nature of your trip and upon what countries you will travel through.

6.How much Medical Evacuation is covered? One plan covers you for up to $250,000 while another $300,000.

7.Is the policy renewable? You may want to take multiple trips during the next several years. So you will want to know whether or not the plan is renewable. If it is, this will save you time and energy looking for another plan the next time you travel.

The best thing to do is to speak with an insurance broker. Travel insurance is inexpensive and in the long run worth every dollar! Below is a link to these insurance policies.
