Like most, the Nulhegan Abenaki Tribal Government is divided into three bodies; Executive (Sagem8w8gan), Legislative (Kchi Bodazew8gan), and Judiciary (Noji Dagwagwtigajik).

Executive duties are administered by the Chief (Sogomo, Speaker, Chairman, President) and his/her appointed staff. Legislative powers are executed by the Tribal Council (Legislature, Representatives, Longhouse) and its appointed assistants. Judiciary powers lie with the Elders Council (Tribal Judges, Tribal Court, Decision Makers) and their appointed assistants.
